It recently occured to me that I was missing out on attracting customers to my site because a majority of searchers are looking for business
marketing, regardless if they operate a cafe, coffee shop or restaurant
style business. They are generically typing in business rather than
cafe or coffee shop, which is a huge problem because I haven't optimised
my site for that target audience. So my post today is to help you with
your online marketing strategy,
and to help me attract those customers looking for 'business marketing'
strategies that own cafes, coffee shops and takeaways.
When is the last time you looked
at your business from a different angle? For example my business
totally relates to cafe marketing (and associated business types). Yes
it is specific to that, however, how many of my potential customers are
actually looking for this type of information, but searching for it
under a different set of keywords, therefore, they are not able to find
me :(
How many of your potential customers are searching for your business
using keywords you are familiar with, but they are not? For example: you
know the name of your cafe, but do they, could they spell it wrong?
What else could they get wrong or be using to locate your business?
What if you are missing out of hundreds of new visitors every month
because you have not setup your online marketing to meet their needs or included it in any local Google searches.
If you found this page today through Google, did you search for 'business marketing' or 'cafe marketing'.
So your task today is to go and do some research.
Open a blank Google search page and do a search for some of things
that may not be so obvious to your customers. Even something like the
brand name of the coffee and location could have significant impact (ie.
Vivo Albion = Sweet Delicious = perfect match) but there could be other
cafes in Albion selling the same coffee brand but because Sweet
Delicious is at the top of the listing it is obvious for choice.
Take a look at your competitor websites, what have they got on their
site that you could use in your keywords. Then start optimising your
website with those keywords. I have done this with my site by including
cafe marketing, coffee shop marketing, business marketing, marketing
strategy and heaps more that are relevant keywords.
Help your potential customers find you.
